Dem Trailers: Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Jeezus, Hollywood! Do we really need movie titles like this? Ugh… it almost sounds as dumb as “Fast Five” (which you can win tickets to right here!). Beyond the shitty, redundant title, I went into this not being a fan of an of the previous PotA films. After hearing about the colossal mess that was the Tim Burton version a few years back, the series’ stock went down even further for me. After watching this trailer, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued. It was odd that the trailer threw WETA’s name so prominently as if they were catering this to nerds, which I can see because I really don’t see this being a big hit with the general population. I do have to say, the CGI apes do look pretty creepily cool. So what do you think of the first trailer?
