The Angry Filmmaker Survival Guide Tour comes to Fresno

Fresno State’s Mass Comm & Journalism Department and the Fresno Filmmakers Alliance are teaming up to bring The Angry Filmmaker Survival Guide Tour to Fresno. The self-titled “angry filmmaker,” also known as Kelley Baker (pictured above, not looking like a super angry guy), was the sound designer on several of Gus Van Sant’s films (Good Will Hunting, Finding Forrester, etc), and is an independent filmmaker with three full-length, distributed feature films under his belt. Joining him will be Jon Gann, the founder of the very popular DC Shorts Film Festival, which was recently named one of the 25 Festivals Worth the Fee by Moviemaker Magazine. It should be an interesting lecture as Kelley and Jon will discuss the challenges that independent filmmakers face not only trying to produce their film, but also getting it financed and distributed. Hopefully there will be a few intrigued entrepreneurs in the audience! Tickets are pretty cheap for an event like this, only $10, and can be purchased online or at the door. The event goes down next Thursday, November 4 at 7 p.m. at the Lyles Center Auditorium inside the Student Rec Center, located west of the Save Mart Center. Parking is free, but you have to use the code “17060058” in one of the on-campus kiosks. Let’s get out there and support local film stuffs!
