The Fresno Met reopens and brings us all types of artsy goodness
UPDATE: M3tr0p0l1s starts Saturday night at midnight, not Friday night. Sorry for being lame and thanks for DJ Bradley for the error spot! Now you can party right after the Beautiful Losers screening. Awesome!
After what seems like decades of getting a face lift, the Fresno Metropolitan Museum will finally reopen this Thursday, November 13th at 5pm. “Yeah, yeah so that’s good and all but when all the good stuff gonna happen?” Well hold your horses there turbo, I was getting to that. Among the festivities going on all weekend long is M3tr0p0l1s (being put on by SonicFoundation & DJ Bradley) which is being advertised as “three floors of music, art, and science featuring 14 DJ’s, two visual artist crews, and an incredible natural science installation” and the kicker is that it all starts on Saturday at 12am (nope, Saturday night, foo. I suck!) and goes until 5am…..yeah, that shit sounds pretty dope and there’s rumor of a bar for the 21+ crowd! But before that there will be a screening of An Unremarkable Day by Suzanne Bertz-Rosa at 9pm followed by Fresno Filmworks screening Beautiful Losers (OMG, can’t wait!) at 10pm and it’s all FREE. We need more events like these and I’m happy to see the Met jumping on the ball right from the get go. To get a full list of all the grand opening events, check out this list over at the official site. Hope to see some of you guys out there this weekend and just as a reminder, here’s a trailer for Beautiful Losers again.
