UPDATE: new deadline Friday, November 21 at 5pm.

Coming to downtown Fresno on Saturday, November 22nd at 1pm is “Fresno Swede Fest The Second” at the C.A.F.E (Collective for Art, Freedom & Ecology) Infoshop in beautiful Chinatown in downtown Fresno.  You know what that means?

We need your entries! This is the shout out for everyone in Fresno the get together once again and create some awesome swedes. Still not sure what a swede is? Here’s the vid I always show people the grasp the idea:

Got it? No?! Well head on over to They Came From The Valley, click on videos and check out some of the entries from the last show to grasp the idea of what this is all about! The deadline for entries is going to be Monday Nov. 17, 2008 at Midnight. The NEW deadline for entries is now Friday Nov. 21, 2008 at 5pm. Once you finish your film, you should upload it to YouTube or Vimeo, or your video-sharing web site of choice and then send us the link!  If you’re shy and don’t want to make your film public, please email us a link to a QuickTime file.  You will also be required to bring your film on DVD on the day of the event or make arrangements to meet up with us beforehand.  If you want to hand deliver it before the event, or if you’re not from Fresno and won’t be attending, please contact us at thedumbdrum@gmail.com.

Yup, that date seems far away but it’s really not so start planning right now by sitting down with a couple friends, bust out your DVDs and figure out which film you guys wanna swede! Please be sure to include your name and contact information in the email. We’ll try to show every entry we receive!

Here’s the rest of the rules: (1) Entries musn’t be over 5 minutes in length.  (2) Entries must not use any excessively abusive, obscene, vulgar (cussing is okay to a certain point), slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated language or any other material that may violate any laws.

Also… if you decide to work on a swede for the festival, let us know! And if you take some still photos of your production, send them over too and  we’ll post them on the site! REMEMBER!
