Robert Rodriguez to reboot with Predators, gets ready for Machete

This month has already brought us some Robert Rodriguez news and it continues as the grand master himself announced his upcoming slate of films, including a reboot of the Predator franchise with a film called Predators, according to Slash Film:

“I’m going to be able to shoot my upcoming Machete here, a sci-fi action film called Nervewrackers, a re-boot of the Predator series called Predators, and a couple of smaller movies called Sin City 2 and The Jetsons.”

Funny he mentions Sin City 2 because earlier in the week it was revealed that the rights for the film had been taken away from The Weinstein Company and that Frank Miller was shopping them around Hollywood. Also that Machete, a full length feature film based on the mock trailer he did for Grindhouse, will be moving forward. This has indeed been a nerdgasm of good news this week and all we can do now is wonder if this Predator reboot will share any similarities to Rodriguez’s previous pitch to have the Predators hunt down proper challengers to their all-around basassery.
