Dem Trailers: Valkyrie

At the Fresno Filmmakers Forum, one of the speakers mentioned how he thought that this film was not going to be a success while talking about how Tom Cruise is no longer a A-1 name in Hollywood that guarantees box office. Sure, the early buzz has been mostly negative, the reshoots, constant delays and Tom Cruise being nuttier than a Payday really don’t help but I’m honestly looking forward to this little film. And this trailer (and I enjoy it’s new graphic approach in here and in the new poster) only adds to the hype for me. Check it out over here at Yahoo! and let us know if you think this will be a bomb or Cruise’s comeback film.

I agree. The trailer looks great and whatever wackjob verbiage one wants to attach to Cruise’s personnal life and eccentricities, he’s proven to be a pretty good actor several times. Having said that, could he/they have not at least tried for a German accent?!

That’s been my problem with this film from the get-go: nobody has German accents. And even though I realize it wouldn’t make sense for Germans to speak English with German accents…. the lack of accents still feels strange, especially since there’s a weird mix of British and American accents. The trailer, however, is much improved from earlier versions!
