I had nagging feeling throughout the movie that the they chose the wrong girl for the (younger) Silk Spectre; all the other character choices were perfect tho

As the weekend progressed, the more I wanted to go back and see the film again. For some reason, the opening credits really stuck in my head as why I want to go back and see it again. But yeah, it was a real good film and I really want to go see it on the IMAX even though I believe they didn’t shoot any of it on the format.

And now that the box office numbers are in, it certainly looks like the second weekend numbers will be taking a downturn as it already started on this past Saturday. Interesting….

Saw the movie last night.

Things I liked: This wasn’t a “comic book” movie, in the way that X-Men, Spider Man or the new Batman films were. It was a “graphic novel” movie. It felt like a graphic novel with the back stories and way the sub plots came together. And I liked that a lot. It wasn’t just bang-flash super hero stuff. It was a long movie, but the pacing was good, meaning its length didn’t distract me. They hit the a certain tone with the music/costumes/etc. that really worked for me. The first 1/2 hour of the movie was amazing. Worth my seeing in the theater and that’s saying a lot for me these days.

Well, I saw the movie yesterday, and I have to tell you, I was blown away. It was a great epic of a movie, and I was completely impressed. Part of this was probably IMAX related, and some of that was probably due to the fact that I haven’t read the comic, but I was really impressed.

I’m getting the Watchmen graphic novel in a PDF right now, sp that I can read it, go see the movie again, and really break it down…

I liked it a lot more than you did Brodie, heh. And that might be because I knew nothing about Watchmen going in. The run time was just right for me, just like TDK. And I can see this flick sticking with me longer than Iron Man (though I’m no Iron Man fan boy either).

Zack Sydner can still suck it though. It’s going to take more than this to make up for 300.

I was on the fence between 3.5 & 4 stars but had to go wih the lower rating after much thought. I thought I saw you walk by real quickly but you were too far away to catch ya! Sounds like you guys had primo seating ;)

You see, and that’s the thing I think is gonna happen: Fanboys won’t like it for straying too far from the source material. Mainstream audience will not accept it for straying to far from a being a traditional superhero movie. Will those people in between be enough to make the film a box office success? I haven’t read too many reviews but the ones I have are far from stellar.

I would give it 4 stars. I didn’t see you there last night but it seemed like all of the other geeks in town were there. We sat in front of the guys from Wonderland comics. Yike!

Nice review. Certainly has me thinking about this movie that I have been waiting for for a long time. I’m not necessarily a fanboy, but I’m certainly not just a guy who wants to see a bunch of effects driving a movie.

I just hope that I feel like it was worth it after I see it.
