The Avengers: Sweded, the coverage continues…

For any new visitors, welcome to Dumb Drum, stick around! And thanks to those out there who’ve been watching our videos all along, we’re much appreciative. The coverage on our sweded version of The Avengers trailer has been crazy. Jon Favreau, director of Iron Man and Iron Man 2, producer of The Avengers, tweeted it out. Tom Hiddleston, actor who plays Loki in The Avengers and Thor, tweeted as well. CNN contacted us on Monday to record a Q&A for their Geek Out blog. Locally, yesterday we were on KSEE24 talking about Swede Fest 8 coming up next Saturday, November 5 at 5pm at Full Circle in Fresno, peep that out below. We’ve also been listening to our commenters on YouTube and across the web who wanted a side-by-side comparison with the actual Avengers trailer, so check that out after the break and on our YouTube channel. Enjoy and thanks again for everyone’s support. We’re working on more videos, so subscribe on YouTube and stay tuned! (credit goes to Gamma Squad for that awesome compilation pic above)

Dumb Drum’s Avengers swede assembles on Attack Of The Show
Hey, our swede is on Attack Of The Show tonight! No Olivia Munn?! Ah, c’mon! And although we took the (SPOILER) number 2 spot, I’m still a little upset that Michael Winslow beat us. If anything, that Beyonce video should have been the one because that shit was HILARIOUS! BTW, if you want to go straight to our segment, it begins at the 5:25 mark. BANANAS!
The Avengers are here to remind you: Swede Fest entries due in two weeks
UPDATE! Looks like our little swede is getting some attention! Thanks to First Showing for being the first one to link it, also check out: The Hollywood Reporter, MTV Splash Page, Slash Film, Aint It Cool News, Buzz Feed, Attack of the Show, Nerdist, Laughing Squid, Bleeding Cool.
Last week the internets were graced with the theatrical trailer for Marvel’s The Avengers, a movie we’ve been looking forward to here at Dumb Drum for quite some time. So what better way to celebrate than to swedeeeeeee it! That’s just what we did. Check it out above and remember that your sweded films are due in just under two weeks by Tuesday, November 1 at 11:59 p.m. Shoot us an email when you’re ready to submit and we’ll make arrangements to collect. In the mean time, why don’t you help us spread our Avengers swede and get the word out about Swede Fest 8 going down Saturday, November 5 at 5pm at Full Circle Brewing Co in downtown Fresno. Special thanks to Chloë Tatro, Brandon Carrera, John Rios, Travis Sheridan, Tommy Brand, and Andrew Toschi for helping out.
Random Goodness: Pitt-Pong
I know I’m not right in the head but I watched this clip the entire way through, which left me a sobby mess at my computer chair. Brad needs to take a few lesson from this guy about jumping over cars, perhaps. Side note: The only thing I remember from “Meet Joe Black” is this scene and I’m not sure if they wanted to make it clear that the dude was dead but it came off as WAY to comical and I was never able to totally recover from this scene. A tad childish, perhaps but whaddaya gonna do.
Dem Trailers: The Avengers
Goose bumps, that’s all I can say. With some decent looking action and an awesome exchange between Cap & Tony Stark, Joss Whedon has cemented my purchase of multiple tickets to see this next May. Goddamn, I’m so excited. And see it in HD over on Apple here for the best look at the footage. Next year is gonna be awesome for film lovers, no doubt.
Fresno ranks in top 20 on list of video game obsessed cities
Another day, another list. It seems in this day and age of infographics and polls, we can’t go two internet hours without seeing Fresno appear on some list. This time, it’s not about bad air or drunkness but rather something that kinda hits close to home: video game spending. Coming in on this list in the number 19 spot (among US cities), Fresnans sure prove that they sure love their video games as they vote with their wallets. I wonder if there’s any correlation between this and obesity? The poll, put on by Bundle, tracked credit card spending at Gamestop, EB Games & Steam to see how much people were spending on gaming, which is now a multi-billion dollar industry, of which I’ve personally contributed a good chunk of change to. I wonder if this poll will serve the naysayers as fodder to continue to shit on Fresno as they have in the past with those aforementioned ones. Hey, at least our brothers up in Modesto are bigger joystick jockeys than us! How do you feel about this? Let us know in the comments!
