First look at Chris Hemsworth as Thor, The Destroyer revealed
With “Iron Man 2″ finally getting a release next week, all eyes are now looking towards the future of Marvel movies (especially after the button at the end of Tony Starks’ newest adventure) and with that, today Marvel (via Yahoo!) released the first picture of Chris Hemsworth as the Mighty Thor. It’s a cropped shot but that’s what the Son of Odin will look like when “Thor” hit theaters next year. Also, a picture that seemed to have been sneaked off the set of the film popped up over at Latino Review and it shows us what seems to be the villain of the film, The Destroyer. No much of a description but the pic looks kinda cool. Hit the break for the two pics. Read more…
Reminder! Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday, May 1st
Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is almost here! Don’t know what FCBD is? Well, in an effort to fight illiteracy and to spread the awesomeness that are comic books, the comic book industry comes together once a year to give everyone who goes into a participating comic book shop a free comic book. So you can’t just have any comic book in the store but the ones that they offer are pretty cool and range all across the board so if you want Archie, The Avengers, Green Hornet or Shrek… they got you covered! Check out the entire line-up here. If you’re here in Fresno, Heroes Comics is definitely the place to be this Saturday and Dumb Drum will be there in the morning to help out (while promoting Swede Fest, of course) so I’d invite you to bring a loved one (and you can bring ALL of your loved ones as everyone gets a free book, while supplies last) and swing by the shop this weekend. Also, as a reminder, our contest to win a boatload of nerd product (including a $25 gift card for Heroes Comics) is still going on so feel free to comment if you haven’t already and I hope to see you all this weekend at Heroes Comics! After the break you can see some videos from “Heroes” star Milo Ventimiglia and Wolverine himself Hugh Jackman talking about FCBD! Read more…
Dem Trailers: Jonah Hex
The only reason I know the name “Jonah Hex” is because I saw it in Wizard Magazine a while back. Never read the comic and I have no idea what it’s all about so this is the first time I’ve seen the character. The trailer look cool, the action looks aight and it’s cool to see some genres crossing over here so although I’m not hyped up to see it, it looks like it might be pretty interesting. So what do you guys think? Will Megan Fox in a corset bring the people into the theaters or will this crash & burn like “Ghost Rider” did a few years back? Let us know!
Iron Man 2 ÜberPost
The floodgates have opened up for “Iron Man 2″ info and with the film opening up a mere week and a half in the future, all types of early reviews, spoilers and clips (like the awesome one up there) have hit the internet and we’re here to corral them up for you!
• Reviews of the film have dropped all over the internet, ranging from really bad to really good. I’m not one to hype things up or anything (right?) so I’ve been trying my best to remain calm about the film but it’s kinda hard to contain the nerd in me. Still going in with lower expectations overall knowing that as long as War Machine does some awesome shit, I will come out of there with a smile on my face. Some of those reviews have heavy spoilers so tread at your own risk!
• So the first film had a button after the credits that introduced us to Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and this time director Jan Favreau does provides more fan service by including another one in the sequel and last night it was revealed what the scene will be. If you feel you MUST see what it’s all about, I’ve posted two crappy cell phone pics that have been leaked after the break at the end of this post so I’ll leave that up to you to decide. But I will tell you this: it’s pretty freakin’ cool! Also, you might to avoid going here to Collider to gather further insight into the scene.
• Wanna see the movie for free AND hella early? The Fresno Beehive is giving readers the chance to catch the film at an advanced screening next week and all you have to do is go over here, tell ‘em what you’d do with as Tony Stark for a day and you could win tickets for you and a friend. Pretty awesome!
• Last night the film debuted at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin and director Jon Favreau & Tony Starks himself Robert Downey Jr. shot a cool video to welcome everyone and then… well you can see what happened after the break. Kinda cool!

Dem Reviews: The Losers
Twenty. That’s the number of times the name “Roque” is used in the latest film to be adapted from a comic book and although most of you won’t care about this fun fact, seeing as this was the first time I’ve ever seen a movie character rocking my real name. So besides the fact that the film is of comic book pedigree, this was the the main reason I really wanted to see this movie. Sure it’s a self-serving reason but hey, it’s cool to see one’s (obscure) name on the movie posters. But lets movie on to the rest of the film. ”The Losers” is birthed from a script that is par for the course for these types of movies so don’t expect anything ground breaking but there are some pretty funny scenes, mostly all of them involving Chris Evans who really was the highlight of the film, as far as acting is concerned. Video Game News Round-up (no cantaloupes)
Take it in with me, a deep, thrilled breath, and let it out as you read that there will be a Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and it will be glorious. Tag-em-in three on three action with ridiculous combos, chain supers and all these other nerdy video game terms that probably mean nothing to a vast majority of you. For those of you on the fence, let me just slip in there that Deadpool will be in this one. Cracking wise? Maybe, maybe.
Don’t you want to watch Deadpool beat the shit out of Mega Man though? C’mon.
If that wasn’t enough for you, 7-11 (which, I just thought, are the winning rolls in the opening toss of craps. COINCIDENCE?!) will be slangin used games next to the slurpees and fun-dips. And not just a couple test market stores, nay. According to the investigative journalism at Gamepro, half of their 6,000 stores will be carrying them. Could have just said 3,000, right? Maybe, maybe.
The full story can be found right heah.
