Fresno Foto Friday #6
Every Friday I’ll post a Fresno pic that I find interesting for any number of reasons

Disabled? I’d say so.

It’s still Friday, right? And I know this is somewhat of a repeat, but don’t fret… I’ve got plenty of new ideas for future fridays, including branching outside downtown.
Indie flicks playing in Fresno this week

UPDATE!: As I expected, “Rudo y Cursi” and “Is Anybody There?” have been booted with the arrival of “Terminator Salvation” and “Dance Flick.” For shame. At least we got 7 days, hope you guys were able to make it out!
Original Post (May 18, 2009):
The movie-monopoly that is Regal Entertainment Group has graced us with the presence of a couple indie flicks in Fresno multiplexes this week. Opening last Friday at Regal Manchester Stadium 16 (aka. Signature) was the Mexican comedy / drama “Rudo y Cursi” (starring Diego Luna) and the British comedy / drama
“Is Anybody There?” (starring Michael Caine).
I actually recommended these films to Fresno Filmworks, but it looks like Regal already had ‘em on the docket… which is surprising. But we Fresnans don’t care how we get our indie flicks (OK not entirely true, still support FFW!), just as long as we get ‘em! So go out there and see these flicks, it’ll show Regal there’s a market in the Central Valley for art/indie films. And do it fast, because with more summer blockbusters just around the corner… I doubt these films will be in multiplexes for long. Catch the trailers after the break. Read more…
Random Goodness: Punched in the face – Freestyle edition
Call me a simpleton, but seeing people get punched in the face is something that taps directly into my primal funny bone (which I imagine is shaped like something out of The Flintstones) and causes me to laugh every time. Well, if you’re like me, you can enjoy this freestyle gone personal and hence the punch in the face. I mean, when you start talking about abortion, it always becomes a heated… Well, just check out the vid and you’ll see. Peep it, laugh (or not) and you have yourself a great Memorial Day weekend!
Hey, have you ever seen… Death Race?

Hennessy:
Okay cocksucker. Fuck with me,and we’ll see who shits on the sidewalk.
Yeah, that’s right, I said it. Death Race. Not even the original. I’m going to assault all sense of human decency and goodness you may have thought remained on this blog and drag it through the mud, laughing like a mad cannibal and strongly proclaiming my allegiance to France while firmly grasping my own genitals. I’m recommending Death Race to you, because gosh darnit, it’s too much high caliber good times to pass up. Plus, Brodie hated it, and that just makes it even better. Let the desecration begin. The DUmb #17 • Sweders Edition
The DUmb podcast returns, this time with FIVE guests, all of them sweders who participated in the last Fresno Swede Festival. We welcome Travis Sheridan, Michael Banti, Josh Tehee, Will Albritton, and Vince Cosentino… along with, of course, Brodiemash and Bryan. We talk about sweding, the festival, summer movies, and more! The audio quality is a little (OK, a LOT) shitty, because we forgot to switch to line-in on Brodie’s brand spankin’ new iMac (which doesn’t automatically shut off the built-in mic when you’re using an external one). LAME. We truly are THE DUMB. Enjoy! Click here to download, or listen below.

Dem Trailers: Surrogates
Why is this not even in the least appealing to me? Perhaps it’s the way it bites every single fucken android/robot/automatron movies EVAR! Okay, I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt that it was just a bad trailer but this film look about as likely to get my money as me winning a Pulitzer for my words on this here sack of dog shit blog! BAH! At least we get to see Bruce Willis with a stupid haircut again. Sorry, still channeling Lewis Black from the other night. Check it out and let us know what you think!
Three new Transformers 2 TV spots emerge sporting new footage
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen “It’s On..” from Bay Films/Michael Bay Dot Com on Vimeo.
Summer movie season is in full gear in case you hadn’t noticed, which means we’ll be getting a crapload of trailers, TV spots & print adverts for upcoming blockbusters. Everyone’s favorite director of Transformers movies, Michael Bay, has posted these three spots for his foray into the battle. For the most part, it’s all old stuff but each one has a few new shots sprinkled around so they’re worth your time… if your a nerdy nerd like myself and kinda geeked out about giant robots doing shit and blowing stuff up. Check after the break for the other two spots. Read more…
Random Goodness: Notorious B.R.A.D.Y.
I remember always watching The Brady Bunch as a child and thinking to myself “These mutherfuckers need some hip-hop in their lives!”. Well, today my dream of seeing a gully-ass Bunch has come that much closer to reality with this little mash-up video. Fuck ‘em up, Greg Brady. Fuck them up, indeed. [via Videogum]
Inglorious Basterds plays Cannes; new clips emerge
I didn’t think Tarantino could do it but it’s happened: Inglorious Basterds has played at Cannes 2009! And with that, Slash Film has compiled some early responses from around the Twitterverse & internet with some full reviews slowly making their way out. For the most part, the buzz is good and gives me hope that the film will be at least entertaining (trying to keep the hype machine down). Two more clips from the film await you after the break so go get yerself some Gnat-zi goodness! Read more…
