Random Goodness: Mr. T Advises Us To Get Some Nuts

Jay From Sanger was gracious enough to point these ads to me a while back and after some controversy, they were pulled. Well, it looks like they’re back in their full glory! My favorite part of this new one? The Snickers bars flying through the water like we’ve seen in so many movies in the past. Brilliant! Check out some of the older ones after the break [via Videogum] Read more…

Samuel L. Jackson signs nine picture deal with Marvel to play Nick Fury

by brodiemashFeb 25th, 2009Comment (1)

url1-470x282Fuck. That’s all I could say when I read this over here at Variety that we finally got our Nick Fury on lock down. And what a lock down! 9 movies with Marvel Studios which pretty much means we’ll be seeing him in The Avengers, Captain America and all the other movies to come from the studio. Very nice! It’s good to see that the actor & studio were able to come to terms and give the fanboys something to look forward to. Now, who wants to bet there will be a plethora of Nick Fury Halloween costumes come October 2010?

Arrested Development movie has Michael Cera on board; life is good

by brodiemashFeb 24th, 2009Leave a Comment

que_cera_ceraIt was gonna happen but it finally looks like the sole holdout has jumped on board as E! Online is reporting that Michael Cera is officially on board with the production. It was bound to happen but we can finally celebrate if this is 100% true. Yes, I can’t wait to see the Chicken Dance variations on the big screen and maybe….just maybe….the show will get the proper attention from mainstream America is always deserved. But probably not. Nope, people will still go watch Paul Blart, Mall Cop instead. Waddaya gonna do? It saddens me to no end but you know what? Here’s a clip of the Chicken Dances from the show to cheer me up after the break! [via Slash Film] Read more…

Dem Trailers: Funny People

by brodiemashFeb 24th, 2009Leave a Comment

Judd Apatow gets all serious on us for a bit with his next film Funny People. I mean, how can you make a funny movie about cancer (or whatever death dealing disease is being dealt with here). But that is a challenge for anyone willing to tackle on the subject matter and he’s got a great cast of people he’s dealing with here. But not to spoil it for everyone but $10 says Sandler ends up dying at the end after all. JUST SAYING! Check it out and let us know what you think.

Andy Richter reunites with Conan O’Brien for The Tonight Show

by brodiemashFeb 24th, 2009Comments (3)

73015794BM179_2007_Winter_THoly shit! That’s all I had to say when I heard about this. I sincerley wished Andy Richter the best when he ventured out on his own a few years back but after failure (I thought Andy Richter Controls The Universe was pretty good, myself), it’s good to see him returning to his roots where he belongs: as Conan’s sidekick. Sounds kinda mean, I know but they had chemistry, man! Oh, I can’t wait to see this revamped Tonight Show. Hopefully it won’t be dumb down to reach the lowest common denominator.

Michel Gondry set to direct Green Hornet

by brodiemashFeb 24th, 2009Comment (1)

gondryhp3The Green Hornet film has been a mess for a while now. At first, Kevin Smith was set to direct the film but dropped out after being to scared to helm an action film. Then Stephen Chow (Kung-Fu Hustle, Shaolin Soccer) stepped in and took the reigns only to have dropped out (he was also set on playing the main hero’s sidekick, Kato) due to creative differences. Now, swede master Michel Gondry is steppng in to direct the film starring Seth Rogen as the title hero according to Variety. Hmmmm….that’s all I can say. Hmmmm…..not sure if this is really Gondry’s bag but I have faith in him. I gotsa have faith, right? What do you guys think? Can he make a successful, commercial film starring one of the biggest comedic actors right now?

inglouriousbasterds-3New posters for the Tarantino epic Inglourious Basterds have dropped and they’re looking pretty spiffy. Very well done teaser posters, indeed. No need for any star names, just the directors and it works well. Check out the others after the break. [via Trailer Addict] Read more…
